Foundation Gives Idaho $25-Million to Improve School Technology

An Idaho foundation is donating $25-million to the state for education efforts that use technology to improve learning, writes the Associated Press.
The grant from the J.A. and Kathryn Albertson Foundation, announced Wednesday, includes $21-million to the Idaho Department of Education to buy software aimed at helping schools boost and better monitor student and teacher performance.
The remaining $4-million will fulfill a prior Albertson Foundation commitment to help build broadband infrastructure for the Idaho Education Network, which will electronically link public schools, colleges, and businesses statewide.
