George Kaiser Fund and U. of Tulsa Procure Bob Dylan Archive

March 3, 2016

The Tulsa, Okla.-based George Kaiser Family Foundation and the University of Tulsa have purchased a trove of recordings, videos, and notebooks of lyrics from Bob Dylan for an estimated $15 million to $20 million, according to The New York Times.

The long-rumored archive of 6,000 pieces covering Mr. Dylan’s entire 55-year career will be housed at the university as a resource for academic study. After two years of cataloging and digitization, the material will be located alongside the art and papers of folk singer Woody Guthrie, a key early influence on Mr. Dylan.
