Here are notable new grant awards compiled by The Chronicle:
M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust
$9.7 million to more than 50 organizations, including the Cook Inlet Tribal Council in Alaska, the Idaho State Historical Society, and Blackfoot Challenge in Montana.
Stella Artois
The brewing giant committed $4.8 million over four years to Water.org for programs to improve access to clean water for families in Africa.
Episcopal Health Foundation
$3.2 million to 17 organizations working to alleviate poor health among Texans. Recipients include Primary Care Innovation Center, Northwest Assistance Ministries, and Austin Interfaith Sponsoring Committee.
New York Women’s Foundation
More than $1.6 million to 25 organizations that promote justice and economic security for women. Recipients include Correctional Association of New York, Girls Educational & Mentoring Services, and United Women Firefighters.
W.W. Caruth, Jr. Foundation
$1.5 million to Urban Teachers to recruit, train, and support 450 aspiring teachers in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
