Groupon and GoDaddy Heads Among New Giving Pledge Signers

Seven more billionaires have signed the Giving Pledge to donate at least half of their wealth to charity, including three high-profile figures from the technology world, the San Francisco Chronicle and Forbes write.

Groupon CEO Eric Lefkofsky; the founder of Internet domain firm GoDaddy, Bob Parsons; and Russian investor Yuri Milner, who has backed some of the biggest Silicon Valley startups, were part of the group that brought to 128 the number of wealthy families to join the philanthropic campaign launched four years ago by Bill Gates and Warren Buffett.

The crop announced Tuesday also includes the first Indonesian Giving Pledge signer, banking and property magnate Dato’ Sri DR Tahir, along with hedge-fund investor Seth Klarman, hotelier Richard Edwin Marriott, and Swiss biotech entrepreneur Hansjörg Wyss.
