Guilty Verdict for Feng Shui Coach in Nina Wang Estate Case

A self-styled feng shui master who sought control of the multibillion-dollar fortune the late Chinese heiress Nina Wang left to charity was convicted Thursday of forging her will as part of the scheme, reports The Wall Street Journal.
Tony Chan was sentenced Friday to 12 years in prison, marking the last act in a legal drama that riveted Hong Kong as it played out in civil and criminal courts after Ms. Wang, once Asia’s richest woman, died in 2007.
Mr. Chan, claiming to have been Ms. Wang’s lover in her later years, produced a 2006 will purportedly bequeathing her fortune to him. A series of Hong Kong court rulings upheld a 2002 will that left her estate to the Chinachem Charitable Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the property firm she inherited from her late husband. Mr. Chan was charged in May 2011 with forging the 2006 will.
