Hollywood Charity Nursing Home Seeks New Deal to Stay Open

After seeing one deal to preserve its nursing home for retired entertainment-industry workers fall apart, the Motion Picture & Television Fund is close to a new agreement to keep the facility open, says the Los Angeles Times.
An agreement forged in February with Providence Health and Services collapsed over the summer when the nonprofit hospital chain balked at assuming financial responsibility for the fund’s Woodland Hills, Calif., nursing home and acute-care center.
The fund has been working since then to find a new manager for the facilities and is close to a deal with a health-care provider it did not name, according to the Times. The partner would pay a fee to lease the complex’s beds, which would help ease the financial burden that prompted an attempt by the Hollywood charity to close the home.
