In the Arts: Curtain Falls for Pasadena Playhouse

February 1, 2010

The 90-year-old Pasadena Playhouse will close February 7 as its leaders look for ways to dig out of a deep financial hole, reports the Los Angeles Times.

Playhouse officials said the designated state theater of California is out of cash and owes more than $500,000 in immediate bills and some $1.5-million in payments on bank loans and long-term debts. They are considering a bankruptcy filing after failing to attract a $5-million donation.
