December 3, 2012

Upping the ante in its promotion of cultural organizations in South Florida, the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation will formally announce $23-million in arts grants Monday, writes The Miami Herald. The fund infusion brings to the Miami-based foundation’s investment in regional culture efforts to $86-million over six years.

The new support includes $14-million for seven arts institutions, among them the Miami City Ballet and the Wolfsonian-FIU museum, and $9-million to continue the Knight Arts Challenge, a program of smaller grants to promising arts ventures, for three more years.
