September 8, 2011
Two longtime benefactors of the Mayo Clinic have donated $20-million to finance research on ways to overhaul the health-care system, the Rochester, Minn., institution announced Wednesday.
The gift from Robert and Patricia Kern will pay for Mayo’s Center for the Science of Health Care Delivery, which will explore and put in place new ways to deliver health care at the clinic and beyond.
Mr. Kern is founder of Generac Power Systems, the world’s largest maker of generators.
