Mount Vernon Library Campaign Wins $38-Million Grant

A Las Vegas philanthropy has pledged $38-million to Mount Vernon to build a research library on the grounds of George Washington’s Virginia home, writes The Washington Post.
The gift from the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation is the largest ever to Mount Vernon and marks the start of an $80-million capital campaign for the facility, which will gather materials from the first president’s estate and other archives and serve as a center for Washington scholarship.
