Ann Loeb Bronfman, a descendant of Wall Street pillars who became a leading Washington, D.C., philanthropist, died Tuesday of complications from emphysema, The Washington Post writes. She was 78.
The former wife of the Seagram’s distillery head and philanthropist Edgar M. Bronfman Sr., Ms. Bronfman gave to a variety of causes spanning health, education, the arts, and social services, with beneficiaries including International Planned Parenthood, the New York Public Library, and the D.C. Jewish Community Center.
Her parents, the prominent investment banker John Langeloth Loeb Sr. and Frances Lehman of the Lehman banking family, were major benefactors of Harvard University.
