Seattle’s residents give more online per person than those in any other big metropolitan area, according to a new study.

The report, conducted by Blackbaud, the fundraising-technology firm, ranked 265 cities with populations greater than 100,000. Rankings were based on per capita online giving and the amount donated online through Blackbaud’s products, totaling more than $822-million from 8.3 million donations.

Seattle donors made 201,502 gifts in 2013, totaling more than $33.2-million. According to the study, that represents $53,542 per 1,000 residents.

The rest of the top cities, in order: Alexandria, Va.; Atlanta; Washington; and Cambridge, Mass.

Miami Gardens, Fla., had the least generous online donors last year: Blackbaud logged a total of $60,837 from 1,181 gifts, or just under $555 per 1,000 residents.
