Philadelphia Hospital to Get $50-Million for Outpatient Unit

The family behind a Fort Washington, Pa., financial house has pledged $50-million toward construction of a new advanced-care center at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, The Philadelphia Inquirer writes.
The donation from the Buerger family, which operates financial-services firm the Coventry Group, is the largest in the hospital’s history and covers half of its capital campaign in support of the new unit. It will be formally announced on Tuesday.
The $425-million facility, slated to open in 2015, will be named the Buerger Center for Advanced Pediatric Care and is designed as a care hub serving patients who must see a series of specialists on one visit.
