Red Cross Workers Reported Kidnapped in Congo
April 13, 2010
The International Committee of the Red Cross said Tuesday that eight of its staff members have been kidnapped by an armed group in Congo, the Associated Press reports.
The workers, seven Congolese and a Swiss national, were seized Friday by rebels in the South Kivu province in eastern Congo, which has been wracked by violence sparked by the 1994 genocide in neighboring Rwanda.
