Sanford Adds $100-Million to Health Giving in S. Dakota

Billionaire banker T. Denny Sanford is donating another $100-million to the South Dakota health system that bears his name, to support programs in internal medicine and genetics, reports the Sioux Falls Argus Leader.
The United National Corp. chief executive has given more than $700-million in total to Sioux Falls-based Sanford Health, which is also active in North Dakota and Minnesota. Details of the new donation are set to be announced Tuesday.
Mr. Sanford pledged $100-million in November to establish a center for stem-cell studies at the University of California at San Diego, one of the 15 largest U.S. gifts of 2013.
