Save the Children Wants British Military Out of Aid Work

The British aid agency Save the Children is criticizing the country’s policy of assigning troops in Afghanistan to team up with charities on humanitarian projects, saying it puts relief workers at risk, reports the BBC.

The organization, which is beginning a new appeal to aid Afghan children, said linking with the British soldiers on efforts to rebuild schools and hospitals blurs military and humanitarian aims and could turn such facilities into targets.
