Senate Committee Earmarks $13-Million for Nonprofit Security

The Senate Appropriations Committee has earmarked $13-million–an increase of $3-million over this year’s funding level–for security-related costs at nonprofit institutions, says the Jewish Telegraphic Agency.

Most of this money has gone to Jewish groups since the program began in 2005, the paper reports. Several major Jewish charities, including the flagship Jewish Federations of North America, had lobbied for the increase in security support for nonprofits.
