Two Nonprofit National-Park Groups Plan Merger
December 21, 2009
Two nonprofit organizations that support Yosemite National Park are joining forces, reports the San Francisco Chronicle.
The 86-year-old Yosemite Association and the Yosemite Fund will merge next year into an as-yet-unnamed entity. The association provides volunteers, nature programs, publications, and other services to the 1,200-square-mile California park; the fund, established in 1988, has raised more than $55-million for capital improvements at the park.
