UK Foundation Offers $1.6-Billion for Olympic Park

A prominent charitable foundation in England has made an offer of $1.6-billion to buy the stadium, aquatics center, athletics village, and media center that make up the bulk of the new Olympic Park in London, reports The Financial Times.
Wellcome Trust’s offer would come with an agreement to maintain the government’s current plan for the site, which includes the construction of 11,000 homes. England will host the 2012 summer Olympic games.
