Update: Pittsburgh Council Puts Off Vote on Tuition Tax

The Pittsburgh City Council postponed a scheduled vote Wednesday on a plan to levy a 1 percent tuition tax on students at the city’s universities aimed at paying for police, fire, and other services, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. The council plans to spend the next week in talks with colleges and others who have opposed the plan.
