U.S. Activists Raise Funds Online for Gaza Aid Ship

A group of American activists is aiming to take part in a new flotilla set to challenge Israel’s naval blockade of the Gaza Strip, according to The New York Times.
The activists are appealing online for funds for a U.S. boat to carry aid to the Palestinian enclave alongside ships from Europe, Canada, India, South Africa, and the Middle East. The U.S. vessel would depart in September or October.
According to their site, UStoGaza.org, the group needs to raise $370,000 within a month to purchase and staff a ship they plan to christen The Audacity of Hope, after the book by President Barack Obama.
