What philanthropist did the most good in 2007?
Alertnet, a Web site operated by the Reuters Foundation, is conducting an informal online survey to find out which famous donor, actor, musician, athlete, or political leader has given the “best — and worst — name to ‘celebrity humanitarianism.’”
According to the results so far, Bill Gates is leading the pack of high-profile philanthropists. In the category, he tops, in order of their rankings, Warren Buffett, Richard Branson, George Soros, and Oprah Winfrey.
