Win a Free Pass to South by Southwest Interactive Conference

August 17, 2011 | Read Time: 1 minute

sxsw logoWho is doing the best job of using technology or new media in innovative ways that serve the public good?

Tell The Chronicle and SXSW Interactive, and that person could receive a free pass to the annual South by Southwest Interactive conference in Austin, Tex., from March 9 to 13, 2012.

All you need to do is write an essay of 300 words or fewer explaining how your nominee is using technology and media in new, creative ways to change his or her community for the better. Nominees don’t necessarily have to work for nonprofits. And we’d love to hear about people from all over the world, not just those in the United States.

Submit your essay to SXSW by 11:59 p.m. on August 26, and your nominee could be one of the five people to win a free badge and possibly even the 2012 Dewey Winburne Community Service Award for using technology for social good.

You can also join The Chronicle, CauseShift, and the Case Foundation in spreading the word.
